June 17th was National COW Day – National Cycle on Wednesday Day and Eva Gannon from the Green-Schools Travel Programme/An Taisce organised a “Picnic Cycle for our school and our neighbouring schools. 46 boys and girls from 5th and 6th class participated in this fun cycle. Eva checked our bicycles, brakes and helmets. We set off from our school to Tesco carpark where we met up with groups of cyclists from Meelick National school and Barnacogue National school. We cycled to Park Road, around the Golf Course and down to the playground where we got water and a piece of fruit. Then we cycled up Main St, ringing our bicycle bells all the way. We really enjoyed the experience. Thanks to Eva, Laura and Mary. Thanks to our local Gardaí who provided us with an escort. Here are some photos from our cycle.
